Wide Beam

WIDE BEAM

from 60ft x 10ft to 70ft x 12ft

Our wide beam boat, The Canterbury, has earnt its reputation as one of the most desirable crafts of the waterways. Luxurious and spacious, bright and airy, the clever design allows you flexibility to create a layout that works for you. There’s a choice of widths: 10, 11 or 12ft and you can choose the length in 1ft increments up to 70ft.

There are plenty of options to make your boat your own. Switch a shower cubicle for a full-sized bath with overhead shower, add bunk beds or create a study area. You can even add our Explorer Pack which gives your boat a distinctive curved stern and an additional 2ft of space for al fresco dining or socialising.

Whether moored up in the city or cruising the waterways of Britain and the continent, the Canterbury wide beam does it without compromise.

The Canterbury 68 x 12ft qualifies for a lower rate of VAT when selected as your main residential home, as defined by HMRC.

Canterbury Plan

Bathroom

The bathroom features a full-sized corner shower with a mixer unit surrounded by a chrome quadrant screen, alternatively a full-sized bath with overhead shower is available as an option. The vanity unit with hand basin includes a wall mirror with illuminated pelmet. There is a heated towel rail, and shelving to provide further storage. An electric macerator (pump out) toilet is fitted as standard.

Bedroom

Choose from a fixed kingsize or super-kingsize bed. There is plenty of storage with under-bed drawers, overhead cupboards with downlights, two bedside cupboards with drawers plus more cupboard space either side of the bow doors. Full length wardrobes, two mirrored, provide all important hanging space.

Second Bedroom / Study

There are many design options for the second bedroom allowing you to create a space that works for you. Some customers choose a single berth and a workstation area, others prefer a double bed to create a comfortable guest room. This bedroom can also be omitted completely, giving you more space in the saloon, or the room can be left empty for you to add your own furniture.

Saloon

The large saloon can easily accommodate plenty of free-standing furniture and features a cast iron solid fuel stove. Depending on your layout there is a choice of various storage units. The 42” HD ready digital flat screen TV can be wall mounted above the stove or can be free standing, and there is space to configure your dining area in a number of different ways.

Galley

A split or u-shaped galley is available, either with solid hardwood or painted doors and a choice of granite or quartz worksurfaces. There is a full-sized stainless-steel hob and oven, an integrated fridge and a deep full-size stainless-steel sink with monobloc taps. The full height larder unit with drawers and spice racks rivals even the most exclusive kitchens.

Steelwork

Enhanced hull design built to CBA Code of Practice guidelines, with two full-length rubbing strakes. The hull is blacked (blacking not suitable for salt/brackish water). Engines

Barrus Yanmar Shire 50hp, 4 cylinder 2190cc diesel engine with PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox. One 50 amp and one 240 amp alternator. Standard control panel.

Depending on length and usage you may want to consider an engine upgrade.

Barrus Yanmar Shire 70hp, 4 cylinder 3319cc diesel engine with PRM 260 D2 hydraulic gearbox. One 50 amp and one 240 amp alternator. Standard control panel. Upgraded control panel is available which features tachometer, oil pressure, voltmeter and water temperature gauges.

All engines come installed, tested and running with one starter battery and a water lubricating stern tube.

Tanks

Water tank – 170 gallons in a fully baffled stainless-steel tank.

Black waste tank – 47 gallons when connected to a macerator pump out loo.

Diesel tank – 95 gallons, pressure tested with drain off point.

Heating system

Diesel fired central heating system with timer which runs the finrads and a heated towel rail in the bathroom, and also provides hot water through a twin coil calorifier, with immersion. The calorifier is also connected to the engine cooling circuit meaning that the engine will heat the hot water.

240v power system

Power to brushed stainless steel double sockets is supplied via a 240V system fitted as standard. Tested and installed to RCD standard for connecting to shore power when moored in a marina. When cruising, power is supplied from a Victron 1600 Inverter with 50 amp charger. Various inverter upgrades are available if required.

12v system

4 x 110 amp semi-traction domestic batteries, which are charged by a dedicated alternator. These are connected to a purpose-built distribution panel. All systems are protected by circuit breakers. The lighting is a combination of wall lights and LED down lighters throughout the boat. There is also under gunwale lighting in the corridor, and step lights at the bow and stern.

Upgrade to gel tubular batteries or lithium ion with a storage capacity of 600 amh (amp hours).
